One of these hats was reviewed by a former MOS 35F US Army Intelligence Analyst. Here is a quote from the review:

"It's nicely built with attention to detail, it's camo is correct and not overly vibrant or dull, It has everything you would want from a Boonie hat. It has effective vegetation mounts including a gridlock top mount for help with camouflage and breaking the silhouette of your head. It has both chin and quick adjustment straps for fastening to your dome piece, Its fairly water repellent, made of durable ripstop material and the price is right! It does claim to be IR Remission which I don't have the capability to either prove or disprove at this time, so from my point of view the only thing you could possibly complain about is comfort. It's not an uncomfortable hat but I will say the material can feel scratchy on a bald/shaved head, especially once you factor in the heat, sweat, sand and dirt. However, this is a byproduct of its durability and tough material so if you are putting in enough work to facilitate the conditions for this discomfort its Inherent worth at that moment far outweighs the alternative of not having it."[1]

Finally, the best boonie!

This boonie is everything I had hoped for and more out of a serious outdoors & field hat. The Surpat camouflage disappears all on its own but fits well with the other patterns I use most, and thats before adding anything to the foliage loops- brilliance and simplicity beyond expectation but meets every need. Appreciative of the buttonhole-style vent holes subtly tucked up below the crown- my mind instantly went to being perfect for adding a hanging face-ghillie veil. The elastic adjustments- beefy, solid and no-fuss cordage that will last under hard use, same with all the stitching and material. The best thing for me is the weight- I can forget its on my head while enjoying all the benefits in full comfort. Rain does not make it into a sopping mess clinging to my head, I've used a Navy digi boonie for a few years and while I enjoy the inner fleece bits and pattern, once it got wet enough, its almost a gym towel. No such worries with this superb quality hat, made in Russia with every practical forethought in each stitch. A true shame Russian Cold Camo is shutting down due to this tragic situation, but I am grateful to have gotten this fine hat through this fine shop and supported such fine people!

Fantastic bonnie hat

Fits my big head and has a lot of attachment points for stuff. Comfortable, but small brimmed bonnie hat. Though the small brim hasn’t been an issue. Also surpat is such an amazing camo pattern, so glad to finally have something in surpat
