This pack works great, as long as you have the aluminum frame slats. It's a sort of old school design where it doesn't open up in the front but does on the top and bottom. Side zip compartments are nice, pretty deep. Could fit 2L+ bottle in each. No place for hydration bladder except main pack. This will fit an M4/AR15 Rifle or typical AK as the pack is long enough. The material is a similar weave to 500 Denier Codrura but a bit tighter nylon-ish and "smoother" with a thicker membrane for water resistance. Maybe 620?
Important parts are double stitched. The adjustability range is huge. Almost too much. I'm 6'3" and that comes in handy for sure. Buckles are high quality, not Chinese junk. Zippers are double stitched except for the top zip on the bottom opening. Zippers are unmarked metal and seem to be a little lower on quality than most military YKK. They do not have a waterproof/rubber outside seal but the pack does come with a full rain cover in the same color. Molle/Pals webbing on the front (5x5) and lid (6x5) Webbing/straps good quality but a more loose weave than typical. All padding is acceptable. Waist pad is good with 4x2 molle. The webbing for ventilation on the shoulder and waist pads are not super tough but that's typical. I know this pack will last me for a very very long time. I challenge anyone to find a non-Chicom pack with this much volume (80/100+L) of this quality for this price. SSO/SPOSN always hits the mark.
