I did not know what to expect with this suit. I was interested in it because KSOR stuff is pretty rare and hard to come by. This suit looks the way it does in the photos, looks like a white dominant UCP. Real deal KSOR/CSTO issue stuff is a tan cream color which this suit isn't. The suit is crafted well overall the shell material is some serious stuff, like its tough and will probably survive a hard poke by a stick while riding a snowmobile. I was under the assumption that this was a real KSOR issue but after opening the box I realized this is a unique Russian Cold Camo product. Just like their boonies, these suits are not real issue these are contract (?) items that Russian Cold Camo had made in Russia. The suit was made by "IP Sipachev Andrey Gennadievich" for "Professional Russian Cold Camo LLC" this suit may not be real KSOR issue but is a relatively good quality 1:1 replica. The only bad quality that I noticed was that on the detachable hood zipper the male part was already ripping off, so I will not be able to detach the hood as intended. However, using the volume adjuster on the back of the collar and the back of the hood I was able to rig it up so that I could roll the hood up instead of completely detaching it.
The shell of the suit is made of 80% polyester 20% Cotton ripstop, and the interior lining is made of 100% polyester. This does not have the same amount of insulation as a standard Afghanka parka but its close. The jacket is 1:1 to the real deal. The jacket features a detachable hood that can be adjusted to cover the face, it also has Velcro ear covers that you can velcro up so that you can hear better (for communication), It has 5 pockets in total, two rank/shoulder pockets closed with velcro, two covered lower torso pockets that are close by zipper, and one insulated inner pocket behind the lower torso pocket that is closed by zipper. Not of the other pockets have inward facing insulation, only outward, so these pockets are not going to be ideal handwarmer pockets, but they will keep your hands from getting frostbite. The sleeves have an inch wide wrist elastic cuff, and elbow reinforcements.
The pants are very simple, you have zero pockets and standard gorka/sumrak/whatever suspender loops with x style velcro suspenders that are bungee and kind of weird (NOT STANDARD GORKA STYLE ELASTIC SUSPENDERS WITH CANADIAN BUTTON LOOPS) the knees are reinforced and the bottom has a velcro blousing system and a non covered side zipper that runs up to just below the knee. (NO ELASTIC CUFFS)
Overall, I am happy with this suit. Im glad I got the deal I did ($150, original list price $300) its worth $150 I don't think $300 is reasonable but understand that labor and importing costs are high. I am incredibly thankful to have done business with Russian cold camo one last time before they go out of business. Be patient with shipping as they are short staffed, they will not scam you they are good people.
THANK Y'ALL FOR EVERYTHING!
